Why Pink Couch Conversations are Important.

Hello Flower Tribe,

We hope that you have been tuning into our weekly vlogs on Youtube and Facebook every Monday.  Every 4th Monday "Mommy and ME Monday" shifts its focus to "Pink Couch Conversations" which are dialogues completely dedicated to girls.

Pink Couch Conversations are girl-centered and girl-led conversations created by my two daughters. The purpose behind these conversations are to shine light on girl topics relevant to girls. We see this as a space to champion girl power and bring other girls into the conversation about some issues that are important to today's girls. Conversations may be centered around and inclusive of , but not limited to girl power, sisterhood, defining yourself, utilizing social media, etc.

The Pink Couch Conversations are so important because they teach the girls so much about themselves and others. This platform has been crucial in their development. It is teaching them public speaking skills, articulation of their feelings, and to reflect on their experiences. Equally important, it is softening them to the idea of therapy.

As a mother, I'd love to say that I have made all of the perfect decisions so that my daughters will never have any issues that they need to work on or resolve, but unfortunately, there is no perfect model for parenting. Even more so, no matter how much quality parenting they receive there will still be things within themselves that they have to work out. I think it is important that they learn to be aware of that and discuss those needs, and feelings.

As viewers, we hope that you are able to receive many of the same benefits. We'd like our viewers to...

1. Watch and listen to these age appropriate dialogues.

2. Join a safe and loving community of girls.

3. Normalize the importance of therapy through reflection and conversation.

4. Enhance their critical thinking, and communication skills.

5. Continue these conversations with loved ones.

We thank you for your consistent support on our social media channels. If you're not following, the girls have their own Instagram page, instagram.com/sunkissed_chicsters, where they continue the conversations related to those discussed "on the pink couch."

If you have any topics that you'd like to see the girls address, feel free to email us at onesun3flowers@gmail.com or drop us a DM on one of our social media channels.

Love,

Courtney
